Page 1 of 2 Putting it real plain and simple,
college students want to choose from an unlimited selection of all of
the coolest ringtones for cell phones and needless to say- we don’t
want to pay for them! Finding this steal-of-a-deal is harder than it
sounds. If you just type “free ringtones” into Google you will get
roughly 1.4 million web pages and very few of them are actually giving
ringtones away for free.
We are going through the web pages that “claimed” to offer free
ringtones and the following are the results. All of the websites we
listed actually have free ringtones. The sites that don’t give tones
away for free or without registration were deleted from our results.
Ringtone Terminology
These are some of the more common terms we found in our search and that you will undoubtedly run into again and again.
Monophonic: These are about 80% of all of the free ringtones
available on the web. Monophonic tones are one-instrument tones that
are just that, your favorite songs done on a piano, or a drum set, or
an electric organ, but that is it. They sound cheap and basically are,
but don’t let stop you from checking them out for fun. Finding the
theme from the movie “Psycho” and setting it as the designated ringtone
for all your ex girlfriends and, or ex boyfriends can be fun. The theme
from “Mission Impossible” can be fun to set if you are scheming with a
friend to accomplish something. Well, you see where this topic is going.
| College students are most likely looking for a
specific cool song that they like. For that purpose only high-quality
ringtones will do, so most web pages with free monophonic tones only
convolute the quest and annoy most people, but be sure to bookmark a
few of these pages because they come in sssoooooo handy when you want
to add a sense of humor to a situation. |
Polyphonic: These are ringtones that use multiple instruments to
create the reproduction of a ringtone. While these ringtones are not
actually reproductions of the songs they often are very close and
immediately recognizable. If you are looking for a song that you like
and can’t find it for free in MP3 quality then you should definitely
look to polyphonic ringtones.
MP3: Well this is simple; these are actually the song recorded
in MP3 format, which is for the most part store-bought compact disc
quality. If they are available, these are the ones you want for the
songs that you like. I should warn you that only about 4% of web sites
advertising free ringtones have these available for free. The reason is
that the recording industry is constantly on the legal attack of these
sites that give away the music industry’s products for free.
Never-the-less, be sure to bookmark our page here because as these
sites go underground and move around on the web we will keep you
informed of how to find them with updates on this page.
Just one more thing before you start downloading free songs for your
phone: you need to buy something. You will need to spend a little in
order to get a whole lot for free. We advise you to buy a USB connector
so that you can hook your phone directly up to your computer. They are
fairly inexpensive. This will make downloading songs to your phone, via
your computer, much easier.
Free Ringtone Sites
Free-Ringtones-Free-Logos
A pretty cool web site in that it has thousands of free ringtones and
it doesn’t bash your monitor screen with a jillion advertisements.
Unfortunately those free ringtones are almost all done in the
single-key-method of playing piano.
Text me Free
Another site that seems instantly inviting because it allows you to
choose where to go instead of instantly hitting you with pop-ups and
annoying navigationals that steer you to counter-productive partner
sites. Unfortunately this site is a portal page. A portal page is
a web page that is mostly links to other web pages.
It has a very easy to understand layout and in a matter of seconds you
will be looking through other pages that offer free ringtones. One of
those, for example, is http://www.free-ringtones.eu.com/
and you can find thousands of currently popular ringtones there. The
ringtones are done in monotone electric organ but are surprisingly
realistic as far as monotone electric organ goes.
