20000 Free Ringtones
20000 Free Ringtones is one hell of a large collection that be easily
stored on your computer. BUT, be sure to read the virus warning in this
review because five simple virus files were found in this package! The
viruses can be easily removed by most free anti-virus programs but
still be sure to read on.
Obviously I did not have time to listen to all of the 20,000 ringtones
but I did take the time to listen to quite a few. I am very impressed
with the breadth of genres that are included in this ZIP file
collection although the quality of about one-fourth of the ringtones is
not all that great. The selection is so big that I kept finding myself
browsing hundreds and thousands of instantly recognizable songs and
theme songs.
This is the coolest polyphonic “package” I have seen yet as a whole.
The package not only had over 20,000 free ringtones of good quality but
also a few hundred mp3 quality ringtones for free as well.
As stated before, the 20,000 free ringtones comes in a ZIP format and
will need to be extracted and unzipped before you can use them.
WARNING!!!!!!!! My virus scanner found a few trojan horse viruses while
unzipping each of the five files that the ringtones are sent in. DO NOT
DOWNLOAD AND OPEN THIS FILE WITHOUT AN EFFECTIVE AND UP-TO-DATE
ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAM RUNNING!!!! I use AVG Free Edition and it was able
to remove the infected files with no problem.
OK, with all that being said, the site is available by clicking here, enjoy.
If you have trouble getting the file or if it downloads in a stop-start
manner then you can choose to download it from alternate sites that can
also be found on the above address. Look for more featured-partner
sites of download.com later in this free ringtone review guide.
Ringtones4All
Another polyphonic site that is less impressive when it comes to
selection but absolutely the simplest to download from is
Ringtones4All. This site loads very quickly and sends files so fast
you’ll freak. Songs downloaded so fast to my desktop that I didn’t see
them. I kept pushing the download button and wound up with like five
copies of each of the files.
College students might find the quality of the polyphonic ringtones on
this site to be just slightly less realistic than they’d like but
none-the-less the ringtones are real enough to be quickly recognizable.
I would recommend bookmarking this site for quick checks on songs you
like. If the song you like is on this site you can have it playing on
your phone in mere seconds.
Best Tones
Definitely not the source for best tones. But, it is a very quick
reference type web site. By that I mean that the very first page gives
you a quick scan of many differnet types of ringtones from movie
themes, current songs, oldies, silly songs etc. Once a song is clicked
on the site will load a full page of that genre.
This site does not offer ringtones that are compatible with a great
deal of phones but if your phone is compatible with this system then
this site could provide a quick and very fun library of ringtones of
your very own.
Hit-Logo-Ringtone
I have to say that as far as polyphonic quality goes this site is the
SHIZ-NITE! It sounds as though someone actually took the time to change
the settings on the keyboards so as to make the sounds seem authentic
and even cuter than many of the originals. If you can find the songs
you like on this site, and they are compatible with your phone, then
this site is what you want.
As far as ease of use goes the site couldn’t be simpler. Everything is
very easy to understand and samples of all of the ringtones load and
play very quickly. No annoying pop-ups will be visiting you either.
Just a word of advice though, with this and all other sites,
immediately pick any song and see if it actually works with your phone.
There is no sense in browsing a site for 20-30 minutes only to find
that the ringtones don’t work with your phone.
