If you’re feeling strapped for cash, colleges and their communities offer plenty of job opportunities.
On-Campus
What could be better than washing dishes for minimum wage? Seriously
though, working on-campus has plenty of benefits. You have a wide
variety of job opportunities, ranging from working at a front desk or
working behind a computer to working with a camera for your college’s
newspaper. You’ll also be in a convenient location, sometimes no
further than your own dorm hall. Many jobs allow students to work on
their homework during a shift—and you thought Plato and pasta would
never collide.
Off-Campus
If you’re ready for the big bucks—more than $7 per hour—you will want
to find a job off-campus. Telemarketing, waiting, and bartending are
among the most popular jobs for college students, many times with
training included. You may have to hitch a ride to work every day, but
you’ll be making twice that of your friends back on campus. |
