Suppose you have to leave for class
in ten minutes. Today, we’re going to use those ten minutes to
give you a great looking room.
5 Tasks for Cleaner & Healthier Dorm Rooms.
- Make the beds. The first thing people notice when they walk
into a dorm room are the beds. The room’s appearance greatly
improves when the beds are made.
- File your papers. Letters, notes, reminders, and
print-outs are notorious for getting in the way. Ignore these
things for a week and you’ll be in a paper heap the size of the local
landfill. Get an expandable folder and stay organized.
- Relocate the laundry. Clothes belong in the closest,
not on the floor. Put away the clean clothes, throw the dirty
clothes in your laundry hamper/bag.
- Tackle the trash. It’s not an easy task, especially if
your trash can is overflowing with pizza boxes and pop
cans. Stomp everything down and you may be able to tie the
bag. Then walk it over to your nearest trash shoot.
- Deal with the floor. Sweep, mop, vacuum; do what you
can do. Unless you enforce a strict no-shoe-policy (and who does
that?) your floor will be disgustingly dirty after a week of normal
wear and occasional visitors.
If cleaning takes longer than ten minutes, pick up the pace.
These tasks can easily be accomplished in the allotted time. Now
grab your bag and head to class; you’ve got better things to worry
about.
